East Texas A&M Roaring Bones Studio

Come and spend a day with the ETAMU Roaring Bones in February 2026 for an exciting day of trombone! The day will be filled with events featuring special guest Brian Hecht, Utility Trombone with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and founder of Slide School. The final concert will highlight the ETAMU Trombone Choir, joined by the Tyler Junior College and Timber Creek High School trombone choirs. The day will conclude with a recital by Mr. Hecht and pianist Michael Schneider!

Houghton Horns will be on site providing all participants with an opportunity to try different instruments, mouthpieces, and more!

10:00 - Group Warm-up with Dr. Boutin and Brian Hecht on doubling and low range
11:15 - Mass Choir reading session with all participants led by Dr. Boutin
12:00 - Masterclass with Brian Hecht
1:00 - Lunch (not provided) / Visit Houghton Horns and exhibitors
2:00 - Session, Jack Courtright: “Improvisation: Learn it, Master it, Teach it”

Parking Locations
Free parking that does not require a permit may be found along the frontage road on the west side of the building in front of the lake and in front of the stadium. (The Music Building is B-26 on the campus map.) There are visitor lots located at the new Welcome Center located to the west of the music building, however you need to register your vehicle. Additional visitor parking is in lot 37 to the east of the music building in front of the McDowell Administrative Building (B24). You can also request a visitor permit at a cost of $3/day available on the university parking services website. Additional parking information is available on the university website.
