East Texas A&M Roaring Bones Studio

Come and spend a day with the ETAMU Roaring Bones in February 2026 for an exciting day of trombone! The day will be filled with events featuring special guest Brian Hecht, Utility Trombone with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and founder of Slide School. The final concert will highlight the ETAMU Trombone Choir, joined by the Tyler Junior College and Timber Creek High School trombone choirs. The day will conclude with a recital by Mr. Hecht and pianist Michael Schneider!

Houghton Horns will be on site providing all participants with an opportunity to try different instruments, mouthpieces, and more!

10:00 - Group Warm-up with Dr. Boutin and Brian Hecht on doubling and low range
11:15 - Mass Choir reading session with all participants led by Dr. Boutin
12:00 - Masterclass with Brian Hecht
1:15 - Lunch (not provided) / Visit Houghton Horns and exhibitors
2:15 - Session, Jack Courtright: “Improvisation: Learn it, Master it, Teach it”
3:00 - Session, Michael Schneider: “So You Want a Career in Music, What Are You Waiting for”
